The MORA project is dedicated to improving the cost efficiency of offshore wind and wave energy and to reduce risk in maritime operations. Through live experimental validation of a tightly integrated radar and wave model system the project explore the baseline for the coming generation of wave prediction methodology.
In short, the technological concept is based on integration of local site parameters and met data with radar data processing to gain improved local situational awareness in terms of now casting and short term forecasting of both statistical and deterministic sea surface properties.
The project is funded by Eureka Eurostars and is running in the period 01- November – 2017 to 31st of September 2019.
The project team consist of three key partners with leading expertise in the of floating wave and wind energy generation, wave modelling and maritime radar sensor technology. Read more about the partners here.
